Page URL delivery limitation not working correctly, what should I check?

  • Ensure it is the correct URL
  • Ensure the limitation is set up correctly:
    • “contains” will  deliver the banner to any linked page that contains the defined URL. If the limitation is website.com the banner can deliver on website.com and website.com/page etc.
    • “equal to” will only allow the banner to be delivered on the exact URL specified. The limitation website.com/page274 will only deliver a banner to website.com/page274 and no others.
    • “does not contain” will not allow the banner to be delivered to any page in which the URL contains the limitation. If the limitation is website.com the banner will not deliver to website.com or website.com/page etc.
    • “is different from” will not deliver the banner to the exact URL specified. If the limitation is website.com/adfreepage the banner will no deliver to website.com/adfreepage but could deliver to website.com/ad.
  • If multiple page URL limitations are applied make sure the correct “and” or “or” is selected between each limitation.
    • Selecting “and” will only allow the limitation to take effect when all these variable are in place.
    • Selecting “or” will allow the limitation to take effect when just one of the variables is present.
  • Replace any plus symbols “+” with spaces, the ad server reads this symbol as a space in the URL and will not recognise the page URL if it contains “+” symbols.
    • Bracket symbols “( )” also cannot be used in URLs so these and any subsequent URL strings need to be removed.
    • If the above does not work take the limitation off, clear cache and check delivery. If the ad does not deliver even without the limitation, the limitation is not the issue, check the set up.
